Experience
I graduated from the University of Massachusetts with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. I am also certified to teach Elementary Education, and I have earned a master's degree in Reading. I have over a decade's worth of teaching experience, both in tutoring and within elementary and junior high classroom settings. I am a licensed Reading Specialist, and I believe strongly that reading can truly open a student's eyes to the world. I love to tutor in Reading, but I can also assist with Phonics and Elementary and Middle School mathematics. My experiences at both the University of Massachusetts and at Westfield State have granted me an understanding of the best methods to use when tutoring a wide range of student ages and skill levels. I believe in investigating each student's individual requirements and needs, and using this information and my experience to help children learn. I work to motivate students to achieve their goals, to assess their academic performance, and to manage their personal and unique differences. In my personal time, I enjoy reading and visiting the beach.
